When theory or driving test are cancelled with less than three working days before the date, you test will be rescheduled and you should be allowed to claim for out of pocket expenses. Act's of God not included.

- Bad weather or poor light.
- Problems with the vehicle that you are taking your test in. - If you cannot make the test for example if you are ill or turn up to your test late. |
- If your test was cancelled due to industrial action
- If the test centre calls you to inform you that the test was cancelled (they will usually tell you that you are entitled to claim out-of-pocket expenses) |

- The cost of driving lessons up to the date of your test
- Any time before the test that is with an instructor - Any lessons taken whilst waiting for a new test date |
Usually you can claim:
- Half a days pay on the day of your test if you lost earnings through unpaid leave, however, you cannot claim overtime or commission. |

If your practical test has been cancelled you can claim for either:
- The car hire on the day of your test (If your own vehicle was not used) - A set rate per mile if your own car is used to travel to and from the test centre. However, there is a maximum distance that can be claimed for. |
Similarly, if your theory test has been cancelled after you arrive at the centre, you can claim the cost of travelling to and from the test centre
